Hearts needs the phone held upright. Turn it round to play.
Keep away from the points
Every heart you take is 1 point and the queen of spades is 13. Points are bad.
Before each hand, tap 3 cards to pass, then tap Pass 3 cards.
Tap a card to play it. You must play the suit that was led if you can; the cards you can play are bright.
The highest card of the suit led takes the trick.
When someone reaches 100, the lowest score wins. All the rules: the ? button.
The players: you and three others: the computer players Ruby on your left, Max across from you and Lou on your right, or friends you invite in their seats. Each gets thirteen cards.
Passing: before each hand everyone passes three cards: to the left on the first hand, to the right on the second, across on the third, and no passing on the fourth. Then round again. Tap three cards to choose them (tap one again to put it back), then tap Pass 3 cards.
The first trick: whoever has the 2 of clubs plays it first. No hearts or queen of spades can be played on the first trick, unless a hand has nothing else.
Playing: tap a card to play it. You must play the suit that was led if you have it; if you don’t, play any card. The cards you can play are bright, the others are dimmed.
Taking a trick: the highest card of the suit that was led takes all four cards, and that player leads the next trick. The ace is the highest card.
Hearts: they can’t be led until a heart has been played on another suit (“hearts are broken”), unless a hand has nothing but hearts.
Points: every heart you take is 1 point and the queen of spades is 13, so a hand has 26 in all. Points are bad.
Shooting the moon: take all 26 in one hand, every heart and the queen of spades, and you score nothing: the other three get 26 each instead.
The end: when someone reaches 100 points at the end of a hand, the game ends. The lowest score wins.
With friends: tap Invite a friend (on the start screen, or after a hand) and send the link. Up to three friends can join, each in a computer player’s seat; the computer plays any seats left. After each hand, the next one is dealt when everyone has tapped Next hand.
If a friend leaves (or their connection drops), the computer plays their cards, and their seat says Computer playing. When they open the link again, they get their cards back. If whoever invited everyone leaves, the game waits 10 minutes for them.
Your game is kept on this device, so you can carry on where you left off.
